You will be part of the team responsible for triage, investigation, and tracking of security vulnerabilities reported to us, primarily in userspace packages for currently released versions of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, but also other Red Hat products. When each issue arrives you'll need to be able to think fast, analyze complex problems, use your judgment to assess vulnerability severity and risk, and switch your priorities to ensure that serious issues get immediate attention.

The Security Engineering team looks for an engineer with a Linux package maintenance background interested in broadening his knowledge in multiple different security related areas including but not limited to: NSS Crypto, LDAP, Kerberos, SSL, NSS (name service switch), PAM, PKI. Summary
Serve as part of Red Hat's Information Security Team, responsible for ensuring Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of Red Hat's systems, data, and applications. Executes security controls to prevent unauthorized access to company information or jeopardizing e-commerce programs. Researches attempted efforts to compromise security protocols. Also, provides information to management regarding the negative impact on the business caused by theft, destruction, alteration or denial of access to information. The Information Security Analyst will assist in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Red Hat's systems, applications, and data. This position will be heavily focused towards the audit, analysis, and tracking security / maintenance of Red Hat owned / operated / leased applications, systems and Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings. This position may be subject to background checks to the extent permissible by local / country laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
* Monitoring announcements and disclosures of new application and system level security vulnerabilities, via industry standard channels, and identifying any vulnerabilities that may impact Red Hat's operations.
* Performing audits and analysis on applications and systems that Red Hat owns, operates, or leases to ensure compliance with industry standard guidelines, such as OWASP, and SANS Top 20.
* Participate in penetration testing and audit of Red Hat owned systems.
* Assist in triage of information security incidents, information security related service requests, and management of the Information Security Team's ticket queue.
* Managing day to day security administration tasks, including account permission audits, account creation, and account deletion tasks.
* Working with various system and application owners to determine whether any corrective action is required, and perform necessary actions to ensure recommendations are implemented in a timely manner.
* Participation in various Information Security and Application Security communities.
Requirements
* Minimum two years experience in a technical, Information Security role, with experience in performing application security audit and analysis. (eg: finding / fixing SQL Injection, XSS, CSRF, deployment of Cryptographic storage, sanitizing of input methods and log output).
* Candidate shall possess solid experience in more than one of the following programming or scripting languages: Java, Javascript, Python, Perl, PHP, Lua, Bash/Shell, Ruby.
* Candidate shall possess a basic understanding of one or more of the following common subsystems: SQL99, ORACLE SQL, LDAP, BPEL, PAM.
* Experience with multi-tier web applications, including familiarity with Apache web servers running on Linux.
* Experience in identifying, defending against, and mitigation of common web based attacks against systems and applications.
* Strong written and oral communication skills, to convey information effectively to customers, management, and technical staff. Previous production-level Linux / Unix systems administration, or large-scale security-oriented web application programming experience a strong plus.
